CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Cedar Rapids police say no foul play is suspected in the death of a 5-year-old boy who drowned in a creek.
The boy was reported missing Friday and after a search was found in Indian Creek. He was declared dead at a local hospital.
Police say the boy was autistic and loved the water. They believe he managed to get out a normally locked door and walked to an area of the creek where he loved to play while supervised by adults.
He slipped in the muddy banks and fell into the creek, where he drowned.
