MASON CITY, IA — The “Bark for a Dog Park” is being heard around Mason City and the nation.
Mason City has been named one of fifteen finalists in the “PetSafe Bark for Your Park” dog park contest.
The winning city will receive 100,000 dollars, with four other finalists getting 25,000 dollars.
City leaders tell us the can-do attitude of Mason City’s citizens has made it a possibility.
“To be on of 15 cities in the nation that has an opportunity to win 100,000 dollars or 25,000 dollars for their dog park is saying something for the citizenry and the leaders and the volunteer leaders we have in the community,” Mason City Mayor Eric Bookmeyer said.
