KIMT NEWS 3 – Snow in May, 60 degree weather in June.
It’s safe to say this season has not been normal.
And listen to this: around this time last year, it was about 80 degrees.
So it’s pretty ironic that today is Heat Awareness Day.
And all the chilly weather is starting to take a toll on those that rely on the heat for business.
Dedra Harris, the Northwood Pool Manager, says there hasn’t really been any swimming taking place at all this season.
“We were open almost every day with maybe four days off. This year we’ve only been open four days so far,” said Harris.
Employees are also frustrated about the weather.
They’re losing hours since the pool has been closed.
She says she keeps the pool’s answering machine up-to-date at all times to make sure everyone knows when the pool will be open.
