CLEAR LAKE, IA – Over the past couple of weeks, a handful of crashes have happened in the same area, leading some to wonder why that is.
You may recall in the past two weeks there have been two accidents on highway 18 in Clear Lake right near the I-35 overpass.
KIMT News 3 spoke which Police Chief Greg Peterson to find out if that area tends to be a problem.
He said the crashes may not be a coincidence.
“I’m not saying the roads are completely unrelated to it but because you have entrances to frontage roads to access the businesses that are so close to the entrance ramps, traffic becomes very congested,” he says.
Chief Peterson also wants to remind folks driving on highway 18 that during the summer, roads in Clear Lake become much busier, so he wants people to drive extra careful.
