IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Two Iowa baseball players and an incoming Hawkeyes freshman have been selected in the Major League Baseball draft.
Senior pitchers Andrew Hanse and Matt Dermody and freshman outfielder Kendall Coleman were all taken by major league clubs on Saturday.
Coleman, a Texas native set to join Iowa in the fall, was taken by the New York Yankees in the 11th round.
Hanse, who grew up in Marion, was selected by Tampa Bay in the 22nd round.
Dermody, a Norwalk native, was taken for the fourth time in his career when Toronto picked him in the 29th round.
