ALBERT LEA, MN - Albert Lea residents took to the streets Sunday to get rid of the old and bring in the new.
This weekend Albert Lea is hosting a city-wide garage sale.
While some say they’re trying to de-clutter or make some extra cash, others say it’s more about helping out those who are not able to afford retail especially in such tough economic conditions.
“I think it’s good cause with the economy the way it is now-a-days. It’s really hard to afford things and a lot of people out there who are less fortunate especially with the job situation and the economy. So it’s really good that neighbors are willing to help other neighbors in their neighborhood,” said Korean Widemer of Albert Lea.
The weekend’s event concludes Monday but residents say this should not keep others from continuing to put on sales and help others in their communities.
