ALBERT LEA, MN –This is one of the first signs that summer is around the corner.

Swimming pools all across our area, like the Aquatic Center in Albert Lea, are now open for the season.

This is despite the cool, wet start to for the summer months.

Besides the weather, park and recreation leaders in Albert Lea tell us they stuck to their plan to bring summer fun for families and children on time.

“We have a set plan of when we open,” Recreation Program Supervisor Jennifer Davis said. “Just as far as pool patrons coming in, it’s fewer numbers. But, we had plans to open on the 8th and we did go ahead and do that.”

Along with Albert Lea, pools in Mason City and Austin are also filled up and ready for swimmers.
