HAMPTON, IA – In Franklin County, there were lots of eyes to the skies as well, where several tornadoes were seen.
A property in rural Hampton, a few miles away from Latimer say severe damage to a barn and machine shed. The two structures collapsed and are complete losses.
Fortunately, aside from a few broken windows, the house is relatively unharmed.
The family who lives here tells us they are quite shaken up, but thankful for the support they’re getting from the community.
“Devastated. Overwhelmed because everybody is crawling out of the cracks and coming to help us and we really, really appreciate it. It’s a wonderful feeling,” says the Humburg family
There was also damage just a few blocks down the road from the Humburg’s property.
An old barn building has collapsed, and several large trees are uprooted.
An energy company was on the scene Wednesday night because a power line is also down.
The man who owns the property tells us he and his wife were home at the time of the storm, they are okay and so is their house.
