DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Des Moines police say a man has died after two vehicles hit the all-terrain vehicle he was riding on a city street.
Police say the crash happened Thursday night when the driver of a four-wheel ATV drove along a city street and apparently failed to stop at a stop sign.
As it entered an intersection, the ATV was struck by a southbound vehicle and then by a northbound vehicle.
The rider was identified as 29-year-old Daniel Joseph Halterman, of Des Moines. He was taken to a hospital, where he later died.
Police say the other drivers weren’t at fault, but one was cited for not having insurance and driving with a suspended license.
