IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — The outflow from Coralville Lake has been reduced, so officials have lifted the boating ban on the Iowa River downstream.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers cut the outflow on Thursday morning. Another reduction is scheduled for Friday and another on Saturday.
The National Weather Service expects the river to drop below flood stage on Saturday.
The service is forecasting rain Friday night and over the weekend, but officials don’t expect the rainfall to worsen conditions.
