DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Iowa Democrats have picked a former chairman of the state party as their interim leader.
The Iowa Democratic State Central Committee says in a news release that the panel on Saturday morning named Scott Brennan as interim chairman.
Brennan held the position from 2006 to 2008. He also serves as one of Iowa’s representatives on the Democratic National Committee.
The position became vacant when Tyler Olson announced Tuesday he would resign to explore other options for elected office. Olson previously has expressed interest in running for governor.
