More scattered thunderstorms, rain for Iowa

DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Rain and thunderstorms could sweep much of Iowa again on Saturday, leading residents to brace for possibly more flooding in low-lying areas and other damage.

The rain would follow storms that swept through the state on Friday, which brought hail, gusting winds and caused some street flooding.

About 3,000 MidAmerican Energy customers — most of them in Ankeny — briefly lost power as a storm passed through the Des Moines area in central Iowa on Friday.
