BELMOND, IA – It’s a new way to research assisted living options and it’s being promoted by the state of Iowa.
The website gives people an opportunity to search qualified senior homes.
Elderly care has been under fire as of late due to cases of elder abuse, but the website is aimed at trying to stop the abuse before it starts.
Some say it’s a resource that should not be taken for granted especially since it involves loved ones.
“Part of the process, I know when I think about having to put my parents in a care center. I would want to know everything I could about that care center. So I think as long as there is any type of website that can give that kind of information, I think it’s a great tool for families to use,” said Carla Mahler, Administrator with the Rehabilitation Center of Belmond.
Mahler says it’s a resource that should not be taken for granted especially since it involves our loved ones.
“I definitely think it’s important because you want to make sure, it’s your loved ones. So you want to make sure that they’re getting the best possible care that they can. So any resource that a family can find is gonna only help them place them in the right care facility,” said Mahler.
