2 people hurt in Iowa motorcycle-deer collision

COUNCIL BLUFFS, Iowa (AP) — Two people have been injured in a collision with a deer on Interstate 29 in western Iowa.

The Iowa State Patrol says a group of motorcyclists was heading south just before the accident, which occurred around 1:10 a.m. Monday near the Crescent exit.

Two motorcycle drivers managed to miss the deer, but a third laid down his bike because he couldn’t avoid the animal.

The patrol says the driver, 37-year-old Jeffrey Walker, of Council Bluffs, suffered cuts and bruises. His passenger 36-year-old Megan Walker, injured a collarbone. They were taken to a Council Bluffs hospital.
