CRESCO, IA – Authorities say a Cresco man is now charged with four counts of Indecent Contact with a Child, several counts of supplying alcohol to a minor, and engaging in criminal activity in his place of business.
Cresco Police say they’ve been investigating Clarence Bouwma, the owner of Cresco Lanes, since May after reports of possible assaults against underage customers. According to the witnesses and victims, Bouwma inappropriately touched two girls ages 11 and 13 in both the groin and chest areas. Authorities also believe he provided alcohol to the children during the assaults.
Police say they are also investigating a possible 12-year-old victim. Cresco authorities say Bouwma fled to Minnesota when the investigation began. He was arrested in Blaine, Minnesota.
Bouwma is being held in the Howard County Jail.
