MASON CITY, IA – With construction season well under way, some are feeling the pain of getting around it.
Now some leaders in Mason City are working to get the message out quicker about where roads are blocked.
City Administrator Brent Trout says they do the best they can to make sure folks know when the construction begins and where it’s at.
“By alerting them through the code red system. We have the ability to draw a map area and then it will draw up the entire phone numbers that are in that mapped area and then initiate a call to provide the information to what particular project is going on,” said Trout.
Trout says City officials have considered developing an app for folks to get alerts about in-town construction, but says with the budget for next year already figured out, it’s not likely to be coming anytime soon.
