ALBERT LEA, MN — The Land of Ten Thousand Lakes is on the rise when it comes to economic growth.
According to the U.S Bureau of Economic Analysis, Minnesota is one of the fastest growing economies in the country.
Minnesota tied California for fifth place on the list.
Locally, job experts say agriculture plays one of the key roles in powering the economy in our area.
And things are looking up in our neck of the woods.
“There are a lot of transition and building and adding on,” Branch Manager Laura Lunde of Manpower said. “Things are definitely expanding in our area. We look at some of the major food producers that are here and even the medical field in this area.”
Oil rich North Dakota had the fastest growing economy in 2012, Texas, Oregon and Washington round out the top four.
