Olmsted County Sheriff's Office

Haverhill Township, MN – The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a suspicious death.

On Tuesday at 8:12 p.m., law enforcement received a call of a man down in the grass not breathing.  The caller was not sure of the location he was calling from, but it was eventually determined to be the location of an abandoned farm at 2360 40th Avenue Northeast.

First responders considered the death to be suspicious, and called investigators to the scene.  They now believe the man was retrieving wire from the property and accidentally cut into a live wire, electrocuting him.  The medical examiner’s office is continuing its investigation.

The man is identified as Alexander David Crandall, 21, of Oronoco, Minnesota.  Anybody with information on his activities on Tuesday is asked to call authorities at 507-328-6755 or 1-800-222-8411.
