KIMT News 3- As construction season rolls on more and more closures are taking place. Exit ramp closures started Wednesday on Interstate 90 going through Austin.
11th Drive NE was the first to close but eight more will follow.
Some closures will last a day and others up to three days.
This is all in effort for crews to repave the ramps while they also repair storm sewers.
Officials say they are some simple tips to follow if you run into these areas.
“The biggest thing to do it be aware of a ramp being closed, we’re going to try to put up some signage to try to warn people and we’re also going to try to keep nearby ramps open so if you can take an alternate route to get where you’re going that’s probably your best bet,” said Project Engineer, Paul Schauer.
But Oakland Ave. may be a bit tricky.
“Since there isn’t a convenient detour as you’re heading west or a good spot to turn around, the detour’s going to be by way of 14th Street going south and then Oakland Avenue going back over to the interstate again,” Schauer said.
