AUSTIN, MN — After a roller coaster ride that lasted months, Austin Packaging Company has new owners.
Minneapolis based Bellisio Foods, Inc. bought APC for $6.1 million. They manufacture frozen dinners like Michelina’s and more.
Bellisio officials said they were not looking into APC before the issues began. They said they saw it as an opportunity to expand their growing company.
“We’re planning to keep production going down there with the current customers, add new production and hopefully new customers,” said Jeff Tuttle, Bellisio’s Senior Vice President of New Ventures.
He said they are excited about this next step for them and for Austin Packaging. Tuttle said they do not plan on getting rid of any employees since they will need them with their growth.
