MASON CITY, IA – If you’re trying to land the perfect job, the key to success might not be your resume.
Job finding experts say your appearance during your interview is just as important as your qualifications.
Keeping large jewelry at home and not wearing a lot of perfume or cologne are a few tips to making a good impression.
They also say if you have a lot of tattoos, covering them up is your best bet.
“From an appearance stand point, you don’t want a casual environment to trip you up. Don’t let that lead to you believe that casual is the way to go, always take on a professional appearance,” says Lana Lafrenz from Kelly Services in Mason City.
Lana says typically the employers who are the most-picky about someone’s appearance are food manufacturers.
