MASON CITY, IA – A north Iowa city will soon offer a service on a weekly basis, instead of only annually.
Beginning July 1st Mason City’s sanitation customers will be able to schedule to have large items picked up on their regular sanitation collection day.
Items that can be picked up include appliances and furniture, to name a few.
Sanitary officials say the demand was high for more opportunities to get rid of unwanted items.
“We’ve received several calls from the public on if we’re going to do additional pickups, so we just kind of decided it would probably be best to do it on a weekly basis,” says Scott Brattrud, Sanitation Supervisor.
Folks should make an appointment a few days in advance, you can do that by calling the sanitation department.
