CLEAR LAKE, IA – A north Iowa home is considered to be a complete loss after a blaze Monday morning.

Authorities were called to the scene at 6:40 a.m. and found the home fully engulfed.  Those inside did get out safely, but firefighters on the scene say they could have caught the fire sooner had smoke detectors in the home had working batteries.

Fire crews believe the home is a complete loss but say they are not sure on the cause yet.
