ALBERT LEA, MN — Heavy rains are making it quite difficult for folks in Albert Lea.
East Main Street and Lakeview Boulevard are a few of the streets that are closed due to flooding.
This is from all the rain the city received over the past weekend.
A part of Katherine Island, which is located on Fountain Lake, is also under water.
Freeborn County leaders say with more rain possibly on the way, folks need to be extra careful when traveling around the community.
“We need to be aware that when you are driving you know washouts and flooded roads are going to be a big hazard,” Freeborn County Emergency Management Coordinator Rich Hall said. “Make sure you heed the warning and turn around, don’t drown.”
Portions of northern Iowa are dealing with flooding as well, with Charles City and some others dealing with rising waters from the Cedar River.
