MASON CITY, IA – Iowans will soon have full-time access to the state’s Clerk of Court offices.
The Iowa Supreme Court approved the new Judicial Branch budget for next year, and that budget will ensure that all of Iowa’s County Clerk of Court offices will be open Monday through Friday 8am-4:30.
As of right now offices close early on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
So the change to the schedule should make things a little more convenient for Iowans.
“It’s going to allow access for juvenile court matters including if we have any child in need of assistance matters that are time sensitive or mental health commitments it’s going to allow them to be able to be done on Tuesday and Thursday,” says Blake Norman, the Assistant County Attorney for Cerro Gordo County.
The new schedule will go into effect for north-east Iowa counties in mid-July, but all the other counties won’t switch over to the new schedules until September 3rd.
