MASON CITY, IA – It’s love of a different kind, and now, there’s new information about the relationship between people and our pets.
A recent study shows that the link between humans and our four legged friends is as strong as ever. In fact, researchers suggest that the bond between a canine and it’s owner may be close to the one shared between a baby and their parent.
Once local animal expert says our pets show us affection in many different ways. “Loyalty is a very power reaction of animals, cats stick around the house and neighborhood and dogs that retrieve and perform and tricks. Loyalty and just that companionship are wonderful ways that animals can show affection,” Executive Director of the Humane Society of North Iowa Sybil Soukup said.
Sybil adds that if you want to start your own companionship with a pet, just visit the humane society or another local shelter.
