AUSTIN, MN — Deer populations are on the rise and that has created problems for motorists.
A Wisconsin man was injured yesterday when a deer knocked him off his motorcycle.
The accident happened on Interstate 90 near the 28th Street Overpass in Austin.
With the over population of deer and farmers in the field, law enforcement officials say deer are on the move.
“This is something we see frequently unfortunately,” Mower County Sheriff Terese Amazi said. “And, I think with the deer population, we will continue to see these crashes.”
She adds there are no sure-fire ways to avoid deer this time of year.
And says the worst time of year for deer is when farmers are harvesting and planting.
