Iowa man killed in crash in rural Dallas County

DALLAS CENTER, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say an Iowa man was killed after the car he was riding in failed to stop at a stop sign in rural Dallas County.

The Iowa State Patrol says 31-year-old Gregory Anderson, of Chariton, was killed on Wednesday night. The crash happened at an intersection between Dallas Center and Grimes.

The patrol says in a report that 23-year-old Michael James McAfee of Adel drove past the sign without stopping while heading west on 250th Street. A southbound vehicle on U Avenue sideswiped the car, and both ended up in a ditch.

McAfee was taken to a hospital with injuries. The other driver, 58-year-old Kent Winslow Mills of Dallas Center, suffered injuries but was not taken to the hospital.
