ROCHESTER, MN — The June jobs report is out and the U.S. job market continues to show signs of growth and improvement.
U.S employers added more than 190,000 jobs last month.
Also, many more jobs were added in April and May than originally thought.
Local job experts say with the positive growth we’ve seen in the job market over the past couple of months it’s a sign that our economy is slowly starting to recover.
“It’s a good sign when you get two or three months in a row with jobs coming back,” Job Service Regional Manager Michael C. Haney. “It’s kind of a sign the economy is starting slowly, but it’s starting to come back and strong. So that’s a pretty good sign.”
The economy has added an average of just over 200,000 jobs a month that’s throughout the past six months.
That’s up from 180,000 the previous six months.
