Sheriff: Man found dead in Iowa farm pond

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — The Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Office says a man has been found dead in an apparent drowning on private property northwest of Waterloo.

The sheriff’s office says the middle-aged man was found Friday morning in a Black Hawk County farm pond.

Deputies responded to a report of a possible drowning at the farm around 8:15 a.m. Friday.

Officials are not releasing the man’s name or details of his death pending notification of his family and completion of an autopsy.
