32-year-old dies after incident at Iowa lake

WATERLOO, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a man has died after being pulled from George Wyth (wihth) Lake at George Wyth State Park.

The man’s relatives reported that he went missing while swimming in the beach area. Rescue and medical workers were dispatched around 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

He was found and rushed to Allen Hospital in Waterloo but was pronounced dead there. Waterloo police identified him as 32-year-old Salvador Quinto Amezcua, of Waterloo.

The park sits east of Cedar Falls in northeastern Iowa.
