ALBERT LEA, MN — The Fourth of July holiday brought not only “oohhhs and awwww’s” from the crowds, but money to local businesses as well.
Events like the July 3rd Parade and fireworks, brought many people into Albert Lea over the weekend.
Streets and lakes were packed with folks looking to enjoy Independence Day.
City leaders tell us all the people made for a great weekend for the community.
“We fill the community not with just our residents, but with non-residents twice over the holiday weekend,” Albert Lea-Freeborn County Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Randy Kehr said. “They go to convenience stores; they go to restaurants, fast food places.”
He says another big key in why people headed out was the fact we had really nice weather over the past week.
