DAYTON, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a man in north central Iowa has died after becoming trapped in a grain bin.
The Webster County Sheriff’s Office says the man became stuck Tuesday afternoon in a bin located near Dayton.
Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Rod Strait says some corn was being removed from the bin when the man became stuck. It’s unclear how long he was in the bin.
The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/185whck ) authorities cut holes on the side of the bin to release the corn. The man’s body was recovered about 90 minutes after the first emergency call.
The man’s identity has not been released. An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday.
