Police: Iowa man threatened workers with gun

KALONA, Iowa (AP) — An elderly man in eastern Iowa has been accused of using a rifle to threaten county employees working near his home.

The Johnson County Sheriff’s Office says 78-year-old Leo Shrock, of Kalona, yelled at county employees Monday morning to leave the area, despite them not being on his property.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (http://bit.ly/1alVmE0 ) Schrock is accused of telling the workers he would get his gun and make them leave. Police say he went inside his home and brought out a rifle.

Authorities have not released additional information about the incident. Schrock was arrested and faces one count of going armed with intent. Records do not list any attorney.
