AUSTIN, MN — The Austin Hy-Vee will be seeing a big face lift in the near future.
The grocery store will be undergoing a 10 million dollar expansion project.
It will add 22,000 thousand square feet to the store and has been in the works for about three years.
Store leaders tell us it will be the third Hy-Vee store and the first in Minnesota, to offer several different amenities to customers.
“One is a full restaurant, that’s right, a full restaurant,” Austin Hy-Vee Store Director Todd Hepler said. “Where you can actually come in, sit down, have a waiter and waitresses wait on you and actually have a nice beverage like some wine or maybe even a glass of alcoholic beverage.”
He says construction could begin on the project sometime before October.
And they hope to have everything up and ready by October 2014.
