ALBERT LEA- People are walking door to door asking for cash donations for the Salvation Army, without the organizations knowledge.
The Salvation Army of Albert Lea say they have received numerous calls of individuals doing this.
Captain Jim Brickson says the organization does not participate in this type of fundraising.
“All legitimate fundraising events are well planned and promoted through the local and regional media”, said Brickson, “and do not include door to door solicitation.”
They ask if you are approached by someone collecting funds for the Salvation Army like this, ask for identification, get a good description of the individuals and report them to the authorities.
