ALBERT LEA, MN – Marion Ross, who played Mrs. Cunningham on the television show “Happy Days”, grew up in Albert Lea.

Now, Marion is back in her hometown, and on Sunday, she visited the newly expanded Freeborn County Historical Museum.  Marion is wrapping up her visit with a trip down memory lane.

“This building is going to bring so much new life to this town and I congratulate all the efforts that have gone into it. Congratulations to all of you,” said Marion.

Mrs. C. herself did the honors at a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Freeborn County Historical Museum’s “Happy Days” room in the new addition.

“The support and interest that Marion shows in her hometown is just beyond comparison to anyone else. She’s really a super genuine person and we are really so happy to have her here with us,” said Pat Mulso, the Executive Director of the Freeborn County Historical Museum.

And standing in a room filled with photos and mementos from her past, it’s stirring up some old memories for Marion.

“They have more pictures here than I have at all, some of the big ones from Paramount. I’m so thrilled with this museum,” Marion said.

Her many admirers are thrilled to spend just a moment with Marion. She even manages to sneak in a quick kiss just for the mayor. And it’s clear that these have been some happy days this town won’t soon forget.

While in town, Marion attended the community theater’s production of “Happy Days the Musical” at the performing arts center, which is named in her honor.
