DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — An Osceola man has been accused of trying to take a police officer’s gun while resisting arrest.
Des Moines police were arresting 22-year-old Brandon Dunbar early Sunday morning as they broke up a disorderly crowd in the downtown area.
Police say Dunbar told officers he didn’t have to listen to their instructions to leave the area. As officers grabbed Dunbar’s wrists to put him in handcuffs, he is accused of twisting one arm away and trying to grab an officer’s gun.
The Des Moines Register reports (http://dmreg.co/18jDN79 ) officers were able to keep Dunbar from pulling the gun from its holster. He is charged with failure to disperse, interference with official acts and attempting to disarm a police officer of a dangerous weapon.
Court records do not list an attorney.
