MASON CITY, IA – On Wednesday the Mason City Aquatic Center partnered with the Hawkeye Harvest Food Bank and hosted a soap drive.

Anyone who headed to the pool to spend a day out in the sun could get in for free if they donated three bars of soap.

Dylan Schulte, the Mason City Aquatic Center manager said, “when people think about donating to food banks, they typically only think of food or money, but hygiene products such as soap, is in short demand for food banks all across the country.”

The pool collected soap as admission throughout the day on Wednesday and all of the hygiene products they received will be donated to the food bank.
