CHARLES CITY, IA – Former Nora Springs police officer James Gray has entered a written plea of guilty in an assault case.
Gray, 43, was arrested on January 24 on a charge of child endangerment. According to the criminal complaint, he was accused of choking a boy in Gray’s home. The Floyd County Attorney later amended that to a lesser charge. According to court records, Gray submitted a written guilty plea on Tuesday, agreeing to a charge of Assault Causing Bodily Injury. The terms of the agreement state he will serve one year of probation, pay a $315 penalty, and not contact the victim for two years.
