CERRO GORDO COUNTY, IA – The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a two-vehicle collision with injuries.
It happened Thursday afternoon on 265th Street. Authorities say a Saab driven by 17-year-old James Sliger crossed over the centerline on the bridge, and struck a pickup truck driven by 59-year-old Duane Patterson. 81-year-old Marilyn Rockafellow was a passenger in the pickup.
Both vehicles received major totaling damage and both came to rest along the guardrails of the bridge. All three occupants were transported to Mercy Medical Center by Nora Springs Ambulance and Mason City Fire Medics for treatment of injuries sustained in the collision.
Sliger was cited for driving on the wrong side of a two-lane highway.
