DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — Gov. Terry Branstad has named an attorney from the Des Moines suburb of Clive to the Iowa Utilities Board.
Branstad announced Friday that he had appointed 61-year-old Sheila K. Tipton to the board.
She is an attorney with a Des Moines law firm and has worked extensively on energy-related issues.
Branstad says in a news release that she has represented public utilities, renewable energy developers and other business entities.
She’ll begin her new position Aug. 19.
She replaces Swati Dandekar, who resigned and says she’s considering running for Iowa’s open 1st Congressional District seat.
