HAMPTON, IA – The Franklin County Fair is changing things up this year and being more conscious of those who want to eat healthy.
Most fair food is deep fried and greasy but many vendors at the fair are making healthier options available to their customers.
Fair Publicity Promotions Director, Mari Ann Wearda said, “if you’re on a special diet you know don’t stay away from the fair or miss out on the fun because you don’t think you’ll be able to eat here because there are options, healthy options.”
Options like grilled instead of fried or adding vegetables to food items on the menu will help keep things healthy when you’re out enjoying your time at the fair.
