2 dead in eastern Iowa motorcycle crash

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — Two people are dead following the collision of a motorcycle with a semitrailer in southern Cedar Rapids.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (http://bit.ly/1bRi6u0) that the crash happened early Saturday morning. Authorities say it happened on I-380 near 33rd Avenue when a speeding motorcycle crashed into the semi.

A portion of the highway was shut down around the site of the accident, but has since reopened.

Police have not yet released the names of those killed.
