MASON CITY, IA – A north Iowa center that provides youth services is receiving national accreditation.
Francis Lauer Youth Services in Mason City has achieved the recognition from the New York based Council on Accreditation.
Representatives from the council visited the youth center and evaluated everything from their standards and ethics to management side of center.
It was a 12-month process but the director of Francis Lauer says it was well worth the wait.
“It raises us to another level of competence and recognition within our field and within the state. We get credit for what we’ve been doing all along,” says Jean McAleer, Executive Director of Francis Lauer.
The accreditation they received is the highest level a program can receive and will be good for three years.
