KIMT NEWS 3– Motorists will be encountering more construction on Interstate 35.
Road work has begun on Interstate 35 between the Straight River Rest Area and Faribault.
Crews are working on resurfacing that stretch of road.
It begins with approximately a three-mile stretch from Owatonna south to the Straight River Rest Area that should be done in 3 to 4 weeks.
MnDOT leaders tell us they should also expect delays with work underway.
“Traffic can look for single lane traffic one direction for approximately until the end of October,” MnDOT Project Engineer Daniel Pirkl said.
With heavy traffic at times, he warns drivers to slow down and use caution when driving in work zones.
