IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — Police say an assault report made by a student attending a University of Iowa summer camp last week has turned out to be false.
Iowa City Police announced Wednesday that an investigation revealed that no assault occurred on the student. Police say no charges will be filed in connection with the incident.
The university said last week that the student reported being assaulted July 15 in downtown Iowa City, and was transported for treatment at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The student then left the camp to return home.
