Innings pitched rule stirs up controversy

On Wednesday night the Le Mars Baseball Team beat Heelan in a Class 3A Substate Final.  However an hour after the game was completed, they had to forfeit the game because of an ineligible pitcher.

A Le Mars pitcher threw 9 innings on Monday night and according to the IHSAA, needed two complete days off, before pitching again.  But that same pitcher threw several innings in Wednesday’s game, making him ineligible.
