CLEAR LAKE, IA – A license plate check turns into a chase and several arrests.
This morning around 10, an officer with the North Iowa Narcotics Task Force ran the plates of a car that ended up having fraudulent plates at the intersection of 3rd Ave. North and North 7th Street in Clear Lake.
But when the officer pulled the car over, the driver took off on foot.
Michael McMahan of Rochester ran into an unlocked home.
ClearLake Police surrounded the house and arrested him.
The passenger of the car, Wendy Maiolo was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
McMahan was charged with criminal trespassing and was arrested for multiple outstanding warrants stemming from Olmsted County.
