1 guilty plea in slaying of Cedar Rapids woman, 19

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (AP) — One of the men charged in the slaying of a former women’s basketball standout from Cedar Rapids has pleaded guilty.

Cedar Rapids station KGAN (http://bit.ly/147yXZ2) reports that 20-year-old Liban Muhidin is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 10 for conspiracy to commit a forcible felony. He made his plea on Wednesday after making an agreement with prosecutors to testify against the other defendants.

Muhidin and four others have been charged in the killing of 19-year-old Latasha Roundtree, who died in September. She played basketball for Cedar Rapids Washington. Investigators say they conspired to shoot at a vehicle they knew was going to a party. She was in the car.
